Description
Make practicing letter and number formation fun with these handwriting practice strips. Children can practice tracing, writing, drawing, and spelling familiar words for all upper/lowercase letters and numbers 0-20.
Handwriting is a complex skill that begins to develop in early childhood. As children grow, their fine motor ability becomes more refined, and they begin to demonstrate increased dexterity in their fingers and hands. It is important to provide children with a variety of opportunities to practice and expand fine motor skills. Tracing is one way of exposing children to skills such as proper letter formation, proper pencil grip, in-hand manipulation, hand/eye coordination, and features of print.
This handwriting activity is a great way to build in a structured daily routine, work on goal setting (i.e. complete ___ pages), increase stamina and duration with writing tasks, as well as make writing fun!
Is your child or student not ready for drawing and spelling yet? Check out these Basic Skill Writing Task Cards. These cards are great for discrete trial programs and children who are still working pre-writing skills.
